About Statistical Consulting

The Research Computing Support (RCS) Group at UITS offers a free statistical consulting service to faculty, staff and graduate students of The University of Arizona. Expert statisticians provide assistance with all forms of statistical analyses and with a wide range of statistical software. Members from any discipline are welcome.

Consulting Topics

Topics for which assistance is available, include but not limited to:

  • Experimental design
  • Data analysis
  • Interpretation and plotting of results
  • Software selection and programming
  • Biostatistics
  • Assist with design of questionnaires
  • Assist with online questionnaires
  • Assist with analysis of questionnaires
  • Statistical packages including SAS, SPSS (interactive and syntax), STATA, Splus, HLM, EQS, Lisrel, Minitab, R, JMP and Matlab statistical tool box

Statistical tools

  • Correlation, Regression, ANOVA MANOVA and other linear and non-linear models
  • Univariate and multivariate techniques including logistic regression, loglinear analysis, factor analysis, structural equations modeling, multilevel modeling, survival analyses, time series and several other Parametric and Non-Parametric methods

You may contact the RCS group for statistical advice at any stage of your research. However, it is strongly recommended that you meet with the statistical consultant as early in the project as possible in order to minimize unforeseen data analysis problems, which may arise later in the study.
