Sue South

My piece of the puzzle:
Sue is the Assistant Director of the Learning Technologies Center. Her responsibilities include management and coordination of all aspects of the Learning Technologies Center, including oversight of instructional development projects and services, management of LTC operations, and coordination of LTC reporting requirements. Sue also consults with faculty on instructional design strategies, makes presentations to campus and external audiences, and teaches face-to-face and online graduate courses in instructional technology and learning theory.

Background & Education:
Sue has worked for over 20 years in a variety of positions at The University of Arizona, including educational program development and coordination, teaching, and instructional technology. Prior to her appointment as assistant director, Sue served as a faculty support specialist for LTC. Prior to joining the LTC, she was director of the Associate Fellowship in Integrative Medicine, a two-year, 1000 hour distributed learning program in integrative medicine for physicians and nurse practitioners.

Sue's professional and academic interests include learning theory, instructional design and technology, and the impact of sense of community on persistence in higher education.

Sue holds a B.S. in Family Studies and an MA and Ph.D in Educational Psychology.
