Bruce Cameron
My piece of the puzzle:
Dr. Cameron works directly with faculty to design and produce elearning objects and to implement elearning components into blended and distance learning course environments. Bruce has assisted faculty in the development of over 60 fully distance courses.
In recognition of his work on the College of Nursing Online PhD program, Bruce recently received the prestigious "WCET's Outstanding Work" or "W.O.W." Award presented by the Western Cooperative for Educational Telecommunications for the "innovative and successful use of educational technologies in educating students." He is also the recipient of the Outstanding University Achievements award.
Within the LTC Bruce is a member of leads the D2L team which is responsible for the operation of and student/instructor support for the UofA's online Learning Management System (LMS). Bruce also manages the UofA’s virtual campus in Second Life.
Background & Education:
Prior to joining the LTC in 2002, Bruce spent 16 years in the private sector delivering on-demand, internet instruction to over 100,000 students in 26 states. His direct experience involves lesson design and testing, test item creation and testing, scope and sequence packaging with pre-/post- tests and prescriptive assignments, correlation of curricula to state and national standards, collection and examination of student data to validate curricula.
Dr. Cameron was personally involved in partnering with secondary and college faculty to provide needs assessment, application requirements analysis, and design specifications for specialized instructional programs and curricula. He was also involved in the project management of application teams responsible for lesson creation, packaging, documentation, training and distribution activities, including project design and deliverables benchmarking, and resource (staff) allocation and assignment.
Bruce holds both a J.D. and a B.A. degree from the University of Arizona.
