Paulo Sudhaus
My piece of the puzzle:
Paulo is a member of the Desire2Learn support team in the Learning Technologies Center. He is responsible for assisting U of A faculty and staff in their instructional and research needs when using the D2L course management system. He is also responsible for providing D2L back-end support, helping ensure the correct and up-to-date functioning of the course management system.
Background & Education:
Paulo is currently a PhD student in Educational Psychology at the U of A. His emphasis is on educational technology. This follows his interest in the use of technological resources in the classroom, which was first developed during his bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Information Systems. As part of his PhD program, Paulo has had the opportunity of teaching, as instructor and teaching associate, several courses at the U of A. This has offered him the chance to observe the needs of instructors concerning technology, as well as experiment different technological resources in his own classes.
In addition to a bachelor’s degree in computer sciences, Paulo also holds a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in music performance (with emphasis on oboe performance), and further graduate studies in music, ethnomusicology, anthropology, cultural studies, and media arts. Paulo has a long history as a professional musician, but lately his musical attention has been directed to his collection of musical instruments, a personal passion.
